Review: Marc Jacobs Gotham Small Shoulder Bag

A photo posted by Jade Manalac (@jademanalac) on

I know we still have 3 months to go before the year end  but I just want to put this out there, the Gotham Small Shoulder Bag of Marc Jacobs is my hands down my most favorite handbag acquisition this year.

When I first saw this bag it was the beginning of the year and I just fell in love with its color and its thick red blue guitar adjustable (also removable) shoulder strap. I resisted getting it back then as I know to better to buy it on SALE. By the middle of July, I was just over the moon when I finally got it with 40% off.

I  just love how small it is but yet so practical for my daily essentials, I could easily fit in a small foldable umbrella (optional), small wallet, key holder, phone, lip balm and blunting paper. The back pocket panel is a game changer like the front flap it has a magnetic clasp for easy access to my phone. The zipper pocket at the front is quite handy as well, in it normally has my "MetroCard" and facial oil blunting paper. It's made of beautiful blue pebbled calfskin leather and black nylon lining. It's just the perfect shoulder bag to have without breaking your bank.

Currently, shopbop carries various colors of Marc Jacobs Gotham Small Shoulder Bag and retails for USD295 with FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING. Often colors like black rarely go on SALE or discount so if you are hoping cop for colors like that I suggest get it now but if you opt for something colored like mine it's ideal to wait a lil bit unless they have limited stocks.

Color and Prints with extra Studs

On me: Sunglasses by RayBans, Shirt by Burberry Prorsum, Short by IZZUE, Shoes by Giacomorelli

Bracelets: H&M, Topman and Hermes

I'm so glad that I have finally got a chance to wear my Giacomorelli shoes. I had this for a while now and I am having trouble in getting an inspiration how I am going to wear it. I know it would be much easier if I just pair it with a simple shirt and bottom to let the shoes shine by itself. Knowing me & how my mind works when it comes for fashion it's always GO BOLD OR GO HOME. Then voila! I saw my old but favorite Burberry Prorsum shirt from SS2012. It's like an answer to my prayer LOL. The ethnic or ikat pattern of the shirt and the geometric pattern of the shoes compliment each other. I'm not an expert but I am guessing it all because both are in the same color hues. I am so happy that these two print work perfectly together.

Denim and Culottes

On me: Hat by ASOS, Denim Shirt by F&H, Culottes by SFor, Bag by GIVENCHY, Shoes by Converse

I love wearing clothing from Sfor! In the matter of fact, this brand is one of the main reasons why I love wearing black even in the middle of summer. Sfor is a local brand here in Hong Kong that heavy influenced by Rick Owens, Julius and alike but without the heavy price tag. His designs are very well thought out and can be worn unisex. Just this Friday, it opens its first store in Causeway Bay but you can always check out his instagram.

Givenchy's Shades of Gray

Zara hat, Vintage Rayban, Givenchy t-shirt, trouser and bag, H&M shirt, Hermes bracelet, Michel Herbelin watch, Converse shoes.

I am so stoked when I got this Givenchy t-shirt for 80% off at Twist last month and I am more than happy to finally wear it. I love my Philippines, but nothing beat Hong Kong when it comes with shopping. It literally more fun to shop in Hong Kong
